Zach Tuohy, the recently retired star from Geelong and Carlton, has announced his next football team, agreeing to join a club in the western part of the state where he will reunite with a former teammate. Zach Tuohy will transition from being a Cat to a Cobra next year after joining Bacchus Marsh. The former Geelong and Carlton player, who competed in 286 games, has joined the Ballarat league after retiring from the AFL last year.
The Irishman emerged as one of the most significant football players to originate from his homeland. There had been speculation about the premier league player transferring to the club to reunite with his former teammate and Cobras coach Dennis Armfield at Bacchus Marsh, and the team confirmed the news on Friday night. “We are thrilled to announce that Geelong premiership star Zach Tuohy is becoming a Cobra” “Our club is excited to now be a part of his story.”
Touhy is among many former players who have joined the Cobras after their careers in the AFL. He joins Damian Cupido and Andrejs Everitt as players of the Cobras after their time in the AFL. Bacchus Marsh has recently celebrated securing the top draft pick in the AFL, as Sam Lalor was chosen by Richmond.
