A Hollywood producer has referred to Bacchus Marsh as the ideal location for Afghanistan as filming begins on actor Liam Neeson’s latest thriller. Victoria’s appeal as a location-packed centre for Hollywood filmmakers reached new heights when action star Liam Neeson performed thrilling stunts in Bacchus Marsh on Wednesday. In recent films from Tinseltown, the outer suburbs and regional centres of Melbourne have served as stand-ins for locations such as the Hollywood Hills, Wiltshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, Providence in Rhode Island, as well as London and Manchester.
Bacchus Marsh will serve as troubled hotspot Afghanistan in Neeson’s action thriller. It will also replicate US states Texas and Arkansas.
The Mongoose is currently in Production – a release date has not been set at this point, but will most likely be early to mid 2026.
