With the footy season getting underway in just a few weeks, the Ballarat Football Umpires Association are seeking new custodians of the game to join the ranks.
The BFUA are recruiting for field, boundary and goal umpires in the Ballarat, Central Highlands and Maryborough and Castlemaine leagues as well as for weekly school programs.Anyone of any age or gender is welcome to sign up and give it a try.
BFUA chair Deborah Sleep said the organisation needs as many umpires as possible to cover the large area.“To support these leagues we require a pool in excess of 330 umpires,” she said. “Our goal is always to strive to engage additional numbers, 400 running umpires would be fabulous.”
