Some of the world’s best riders battled it out for round two of the Australian Supercross Championships at Bacchus Marsh Motorcross Club at the weekend.

Held over six rounds throughout four states, the national championships attracted high-profile riders from Australia and overseas.

The competition was fierce last Saturday as Australia took on riders from the US in SX1 and SX2 classes.

Local riders in the intermediate, clubman and junior divisions also took to the track.

Homegrown contenders Gavin Faith came second in the SX2 class, while recently crowned Australian motocross champion Dean Ferris came second in the SX1 standings, behind US defending champion Justin Brayton.

Brayton, one of many visiting US riders, leads the championship after a convincing performance in round one.
