Melbourne’s West is among the most affected areas by the coronavirus pandemic after new stats were revealed yesterday.
Social Services stats show that from Mid-November, the were over 370,000 people claiming the jobseeker benefit.
The Jobseeker coronavirus supplement will be reduced to just $150 per fortnight, a reduction of $100 per fortnight.
Dandenong and Broadmeadows are the worst affected areas while Melton – Bacchus Marsh is considered the third most affected area in Victoria.
9070 Melton and Bacchus Marsh residents are claiming jobseeker payments. There has been no change to the unemployment rate in Ballarat over the last month.
The jobless rate is expected to drop as the the state recovers from the coronavirus pandemic. Already we are seeing more jobs advertised on social media and job websites.
