A MAN in his 50s has been charged with arson in connection with a suspicious fire at a retirement village in Bacchus Marsh last night.
DETECTIVES have charged a 51-year-old man with arson over a fire at a Bacchus Marsh retirement village.
The man, from Bacchus Marsh, has been charged with one count of arson and was remanded in custody to appear at Ballarat Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
The charge follows a fire at the Gisborne Rd address, near Masons Lane, at 11.45pm yesterday.
A number of residents were treated for smoke inhalation.
One man went to hospital with lacerations suffered during the incident.
