The Bacchus Marsh Avenue of Honour holds great importance to the local community and is significant both historically and visually. The Moorabool Shire Council, as the guardians of the Avenue, have created a draft plan to manage and protect it as a memorial for future generations. This plan has been developed in collaboration with various individuals and organisations knowledgeable in the field and now the community is encouraged to review and offer their opinions on the draft documents.
The Council has worked with technical experts and other important groups to create a preliminary strategy and plan for how to manage the Bacchus Marsh Avenue of Honour moving forward.
The preliminary Bacchus Marsh Avenue of Honour Management Strategy outlines the background of the avenue and the guidelines for its upkeep. The preliminary Preservation Plan offers in-depth insights into the present state of the avenue, important factors to consider, and proposes a strategy for replacing trees strategically to preserve the avenue in the long term.
Moorabool Shire residents are invited to have their say on the draft documents. Please provide your feedback here – you can be anonymous, or register and then comment.
