A dangerous intersection just north of the Western Freeway will receive a $2.4 million facelift.
Works have started on the Gisborne Road and Holts Lane Intersection in Bacchus Marsh which services about 5000 vehicles every day.
Bunninyong MP Geoff Howard said the works would see a redesigned intersection as well as new line markings and widened pedestrian access.
“Also included are upgraded footpaths (including) a new link on the north-western corner and a new traffic island on Holts Lane (east of Gisborne Road) to separate traffic lanes and improve safety,” Mr Howard said.
A reduced 40km/h speed limit will apply during the works which are expected to be finished by the middle of the year.
